Terms of Service

Last updated March 19, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Klosr, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. These terms are binding between you and Klosr (Christian Bjarnson). We can update these terms anytime, and your continued use means you accept the changes.

2. What Klosr Is

Klosr is a human-only note app for private one-to-one connections. You can write notes, sketch, attach a camera-captured moment photo taken in the app right then, and keep each person in a separate thread. Klosr uses Apple's CloudKit for shared-thread sync, and it can optionally hand invites or note text off to Apple's Messages app. Klosr is not a group chat service, and it does not generate note drafts or replies for you.

3. Your Account and Responsibilities

You're responsible for:

  • Keeping your device and account secure
  • All content you create and send
  • How you use the app
  • Inviting people who actually want to hear from you

You're responsible for any notes you send. If you send something harmful, illegal, or harassing, that's on you.

4. Acceptable Use

Don't use Klosr to:

  • Harass, bully, or abuse anyone
  • Send spam or unsolicited notes
  • Break the law or help someone else break it
  • Threaten or manipulate people
  • Share others' private information without permission
  • Impersonate someone else

Klosr also includes local block controls and support contact links for private threads. If you violate these rules, we reserve the right to restrict your access to Klosr without notice.

5. Your Content

You own the notes and content you create. We don't claim ownership of anything you write. Klosr stores content locally on your device and, when a private thread is connected, may sync thread content through Apple's iCloud and CloudKit infrastructure. Klosr does not operate its own note-relay backend.

If content has already been shared to another person's thread or handed off to Messages, removing it from your copy may not remove it from theirs. Apple's iCloud systems and Apple's Messages app are governed by Apple's own terms and policies.

6. Messages and Handoff

When you choose to text an invite or note, Klosr opens your device's native Messages app or share sheet with content prefilled. We don't deliver those messages ourselves. Apple, iOS, and your carrier handle delivery, and standard carrier or messaging rates may apply. We're not responsible for delivery failure, delays, or carrier issues.

7. Safety and Support

Klosr provides local block controls for private one-to-one threads and lets you contact support by email. Those support flows are designed to avoid automatically sending your note content to us. If you contact support, you choose what additional detail to include.

8. Our Intellectual Property

The Klosr brand, design, code, and all the stuff we built belong to us. You can't copy, sell, or pretend you made it. You're allowed to use Klosr the way it's intended: to write and share private one-to-one notes with people you know.

9. No Warranties

Klosr is provided as-is. We don't promise it will be perfect, always available, or work on every device. We're one person building this, and we do our best, but we can't guarantee anything. Your notes might get lost (though we try hard to prevent that). The app might have bugs. Updates might break things temporarily.

KLOSR IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

10. Limitation of Liability

If something goes wrong, our liability is limited to what you paid (which is nothing, since Klosr is free). We're not liable for lost data, missed deliveries, emotional distress, or any indirect or consequential damages. We're a solo developer, not a big company with lawyers and insurance.

11. Termination

You can stop using Klosr anytime by deleting the app. iCloud data and Apple service behavior are managed through your Apple account and device settings. Notes or invites already shared to another person or handed off to Messages may remain in their possession. If you break these terms, we reserve the right to restrict your access to Klosr.

12. Changes to These Terms

We can update these terms whenever we need to. If we make big changes, we'll try to let you know (but we might just update this page). Your continued use of Klosr after changes means you accept the new terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the state of Maine, without regard to conflicts of law. Any legal disputes will be handled in Maine courts if we're unable to work it out directly.
